The Isle of Arran with its picturesque mountains, lowlands, glens, lochs and royal castles is known as the 'Scotland in Miniature'. Located in this naturally blessed region, the Arran distillery uses water that has been cleansed by granite and softened by peat as it comes down from the mountain above, making it one of the purest water sources in all of Scotland. Shunning contemporary convenience for ancient wisdom, Arran distillery uses only the traditional methods of distilling, with wooden washbacks and copper stills designed to its exact specification in order to produce an award winning whisky. Non chill filtered and unpeated as it is, the final Arran Single Malt is dry and light, with hints of vanilla and ripe tropical fruit.
The whisky has a beautiful golden hue which comes only from the casks used for maturation. No artificial colouring is used with any Arran Single Malt. Here again, nature has magnanimously lent its heft to the end process; washed by the warm waters of the gulf streams, the isle enjoys a fantastic microclimate that is truly ideal for maturing fine single malts.
46% Abv - 700ml
The older sibling to the 10 Year Old - this edition of the Arran Malt has a true depth of character borne from the extra years in cask. A higher proportion of ex-bourbon casks is used with the 14 Year Old creating a rich, lush palate that allows the intrinsic sweet fruity characteristics of the Arran Malt to truly shine.
Tasting Notes: Dried fruits, vanilla and toffee upfront. With a little water, a salty tang appears along with caramelised fruits indicating a depth of flavour. The palate has an initial burst of brine leading onto warming toffee apples and hazlenuts. This is followed by dates, chocolate orange and spiced tea cake. The mouth feel is overwhelmingly rich and weighty.MRP: Rs.9600
This Limited Edition release of The Arran Malt at 18 Years Old has been produced from un-peated malted barley and matured in a selection of the finest ex-Sherry casks. The whisky has not been artificially coloured and has not been chill-filtered at bottling thus retaining the full range of aromas and flavours which typify this unique Island Single Malt. It has been bottled at 46% abv. Only 9,000 bottles of The Arran Malt 18 Years have been released worldwide. This is the final bottling in a trilogy of 16, 17 & 18 year-old Arran Malts which celebrated the countdown to this first official release of The Arran Malt as an 18 year-old.
Tasting Notes: Nose is rich, lush honey with hints of ginger and dark chocolate. This golden syrup glides over the tongue in a glorious wave of sweetness and spice. Crème brulee at first followed by bitter orange and charred oak. The finish is long and lingering with Arran showing its decadent side at sweet sixteen.MRP: Rs.7700
46% Abv - 700ml
Lightly peated at 20ppm, this mythical malt has proved a popular addition to the Arran range. On the west coast of Isle of Arran lies a mystical peat bog called Machrie Moor with a legendary tale about the warrior giant Fingal, and this expression perfectly captures the rugged beauty and lore of the landscape. As the distillery says, 'unleash the legend that is Machire Moor.'
Tasting Notes: Tropical notes of pineapple, peaches and a distinctive coconut aroma dominate, and a mild peat adds to this fresh and vibrant dimension. Palate is citrus freshness that mixes with rich spice and a hint of peat smoke, and a drop of water brings out the delicious honey sweetness and vanilla. The finish is crisp and clean with lingering smoke and sweet vanilla.MRP: Rs.9600
